Through the completion of seven projects over the course of ten years, we have assisted in the transformation of this campus from its country-day-nursery school beginnings to a Middle-States accredited elementary school.

The Children’s House multipurpose room addition was planned as a dramatic interior space to allow all children on campus a place for drama productions, all-school assemblies, as well as parent meetings and specialty class instruction. Essential everyday connections were made to other parts of the school building while creating required egresses and fire separations. The main space is a large volume, with exposed heavy timber and steel roof trusses, a stage, kitchen, and bathroom and support spaces, it is often leased to religious groups for Sunday services.

Other projects included expansion to the toddler level program in the form of alterations to create new classrooms, administrative office alterations, a fine arts building, and an addition to link two adjacent buildings acquired to expand the elementary school and provide science lab and technology instruction spaces. The link between the buildings provides the circulation and the large shared lab space. Its front view is evocative of a simple one-room schoolhouse.
